Eyes of the Owl - BQQKS.com is a shop in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire that offers a wide variety of used materials including over 10,000 books, books on tape or CD, Videotapes, DVDs, and hundreds of 33, 45 and 78 rpm recordings. We offer a large non-fiction inventory encouraging environmentally sound living. Sections include: Homesteading, Primative and Alternative Living Skills, Nature, Domestic Animals and Livestock, Gardening and Agriculture, How-to, Solar Power, Wind Energy, Sailing, Bicycling, Ultralight and Lighter-than Aircraft, Sustainable Living, Home construction techniques, Envirnmental concerns and Public poliicy, Hiking, Camping, Arts and Crafts, Health and Healing, Food Preparation and Preservation, just to name a few. We ship worldwide year around and have a shop open during warmer weekends located three blocks from the Wolfeboro docks, next to the Village Players.
Why we're GREEN: We are an independently owned and operated business in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire. Our inventory is all selected from local individuals in return for store credit, cash or business check. This stocking technique provides an inexpensive and low-impact alternative to the big-box stores, fosters the local economy and reduces the area waste stream. Rejected and discarded materials are donated to local not-for-profit organizations or are properly recycled. The shop is located in a barn, helping to preserve local architecture. We are closed during cold weather reducing our heating carbon foot-print to near zero.
